Pianist Alexander Sokol (rus. Александр Сокол) immigrated to Canada in 2005 and immediately joined the Canadian musical scene. Born in Kharkov, Ukraine, he became a laureate at the All-Russia Piano Competition and went on to win two prestigious international competitions in Italy – the Carlo Soliva Piano competition and Rina Sana Gallo Piano Competition, resulting in critically acclaimed European concert tours.
Alexander Sokol holds a Doctor of Education as well as Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the Nizhny Novgorod State Academy named after M.I. Glinka. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Moscow Gnessin Music College.
Alexander Sokol has held positions in numerous high-profile pedagogical institutions both in Russia as well as Israel and Canada. He was a high-level piano teacher in Nizhny Novgorod State Academy, an accomplished concert pianist in Moscow Gnessin Music College and a high-profile teacher in Israel. He also worked in Stream School of Music in Canada.
During his tenures at the institutions above, he developed and implemented carefully curated music programs and materials and led his students to the highest levels of success and accolades in their respective disciplines.
Alexander Sokol is a Laureate of the All Russian Piano Competition, Laureate of the Rina Sana Galla International Piano Competition and Absolute Winner of the Carlo Soliva International Piano Competition in Italy.
Many of his students are graduates from Universities and Conservatories of Music in Russia, Israel and Canada and have attained great heights of professional success and achievement.
